May at The Litton, Litton

When you first see The Litton it doesn’t look very big, the buildings being tucked into the dip alongside the stream. As you descend the steps you see in the painting, you then enter the main bar area with a large restaurant area then opening up in front of you. I first painted the Litton in the morning light but knew I’d have to return and paint it as the sun set, which gave the pub this fantastic glow.
